8911 definite purpose starters are inexpensive starters for applications with relatively low duty cycles. Typical applications include air compressors, agricultural equipment, pumps, and HVAC equipment. This three pole definite purpose starter has a full load rating of 40 amperes. This starter has ratings of 3 HP at 115 VAC and 7.5 HP at 230 VAC single phase. It has a 10 HP at 230 VAC, 20 HP at 460 VAC and 25 HP at 575 VAC poly phase. The nonreplaceable coil is available with a variety of coil voltages. This device has a 24 VAC 50/60 Hz coil. The starter has straight through wiring. The melting alloy type overload relay uses Type B thermal units to sense over current conditions. This starter doesn't have an enclosure. Enclosures are available.
