Connect to Devices via Modbus TCP Modbus is a data communication protocol that allows data exchange between a master and multiple slaves. It is a widely used communication protocol for automation technology and supports the connection of industrial electronic devices. Modbus can be operated simultaneously with Ethernet TCP/IP on the same physical interface. The data is sent via TCP/IP packets. With this Modbus TCP App, the ctrlX OS-based controller can be connected to other devices via Modbus TCP. No PLC is required to operate the app. The data of the Modbus devices is available to all apps on the controller directly via the real-time data layer. They can be written and read. Modbus TCP is configured in both the Web interface and the controller’s data layer.
