Short description: PROFIBUS DP is the manufacturer-independent and open fieldbus standard from PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI). This standard offers solutions for production and process automation, as well as safety applications while covering all drive technology up to isochronous motion control applications. This fieldbus coupler connects WAGO's 767 Series I/O Modules to PROFIBUS DP. The coupler creates a process image of all inputs and outputs depending on the station's module structure and the configuration data transmitted by the DP master. In addition, the coupler provides the connected I/O modules with the parametrization data provided by the device description (GSD file) and transferred by the DP master, if required. In DP-VO operation mode, the device provides both device/ID/channel-based diagnostics and module status. In DP-V1 operation mode, status messages and optional diagnostic alarms are provided instead of ID/channel-based diagnostics.
